Experimental DRSSTC Tesla coil project. The underlying topology is based on an established circuit, while component selection, PCB implementation, gate-drive setup and resonant-frequency tuning are being adapted and characterized experimentally.
High-power testing required iterative characterization of the gate drive, GDT, feedback path and switching stage. Device failures during early testing were used to identify weaknesses in the drive and power stage and guide subsequent revisions.
